Maybelline Colour Tattoo Collection

The Maybelline colour tattoos kicked up a storm a couple of years ago in the beauty blogging world however mine and I’m sure I can vouch for many others have gathered dust at the back of my draws. I don’t know why as they’re excellent products so I thought by sharing my collection with you all it would inspire me to delve back into using them and if you have neglected them too I hope it inspires you to use them again!

The colour tattoos retail for £4.99 which is very well priced for such a high quality product. I picked up the metallic sky blue shade in a discounted beauty outlet so it was even cheaper than the already inexpensive retail price.

The packaging is minimalistic but pretty with the metallic writing reflecting the metallic-ness of the product. I actually prefer the packaging of the colour tattoos to the Mac paint pots as the lid doesn’t get grubby off your fingers like the Mac one does.

The formula is very creamy but doesn’t budge once on the eyes, you have a couple of minutes to blend it out before it sets. Trust me, once it’s set, it won’t budge till you remove it in the evening.

The shades I have are on and on bronze (a classic bronze shade), light in purple (a bright sky blue) and metallic pomegrante (a deep brown-toned purple). Each one is very pigmented and has a beautiful metallic sheen.

I’m definetly going to make a concious effort to reach for these more often as they’re great for a quick all-over wash of colour or as a eyeshadow base.

Do you own any colour tattoos? What is your favourite shade?

I don’t any of the tattoos, I’m not sure how I haven’t with all the hype that was around! They sound like something my routine could do with to quicken it up! 🙂

They’re a really good alternative to the Mac paint pots! If I could only recommend one shade it would be on and on bronze as it looks incredible swept over the lid xxx

I love the pink and bronze colours, they are the only ones I have. The pink one is especially lovely as a base for any Naked 3 eye look. I really want to try Creamy Beige as I have heard that is good. I am hoping they will come out with more skin like shades as I am aching for a drugstore dupe of Soft Ochre. Great post, lovely pictures xxx

I want to try permanent taupe as it’s meant to be a great for blonde/brown eyebrows. They are great dupes for the Mac paint pots so I also hope they bring out neutral matte ones! Thank you for your lovely comment 😘 XXX
