This blogpost has been on my to do list for a very long time, actually since February when I got this bag! In the February half term when I was off school I went to Rome which you may already know if you’re a reader of my blog as I did a Rome makeup haul. So I did some serious damage shopping there and that didn’t even include my Valentino handbag. I really love watching and reading what’s in my bag videos and blogposts but I wanted to wait until I got my first ever designer handbag to do one. It wasn’t intentional getting a handbag in Rome, it just happened, but when I saw it I instantly fell in love. I think the fact I got an Italian designer handbag in Italy made it really special as well. I can’t find this anywhere online but all I remember from the shop was that this was part of the new collection. Inside, this handbag is one large compartment with a zip pocket and the handles fit perfectly over the shoulder almost like a tote bag but more structured.
First off, I always carry a purse and this pink flower one is so gorgeous, it reminds me of the Marc Jacobs fragrances. I got this last summer and I unfortunately don’t think they’re selling it anymore. Inside it has card and note slots and a change compartment. I keep my teen card (for buses), loyalty cards and debit card in here. It’s just a really beautiful purse and it doesn’t seem to scuff or damage easily which is always a good thing. The pastel pink is perfect for the summertime and I’m not planning on changing my purse anytime soon as Newlook purses are such good quality!
Next are my keys, my actually key itself is so cute as it’s a pink daisy print. I take these everywhere with me because I guarantee the one time I don’t have them will be the time I’m locked out. The chocolate frog keyring is from Harry Potter world as I visited there at New Year. Then the underground keyring is from a previous trip to London and I just really liked it. Keyrings are a really nice thing to have as they can remind you of people and places. Mind, I do have a lot more but they can be very bulky in your bag so I took a few of mine off and kept my two favourites.
So this is the bit I’m slightly ashamed of, I carry a lot of toiletries around.. I’m that person people come to if they need anything, and to be honest I usually have it!
Top left to bottom right;

Nivea Mini Hand Cream
Nivea SPF 30 Lip Balm
Colab Mini Paris Dry Shampoo
Nars Brigitte Lipstick
Soul Sunday Unicorn Oil
Simple Oil Balancing Face Wipes
Kleenex Sensitive Tissues
Superdrug Hand Wipes
Maybelline Superstay Powder
Hair Bobbles
Bobby Pins
Body Shop Cuticle Oil
Pur Minerals Powder Brush

Tangle Teezer
In the zip pocket inside the bag, I keep my keys, and when I got everything out these two other items were in there too. I carry fresh mint tic tacs around with me as an alternative to chewing gum as I’m not really a fan of it as I think watching somebody who has a piece in there mouth is the most disgusting thing and I don’t want to be that person. If my hairs annoying me, I just like to throw it up but sometimes just a bobble doesn’t look very good but a scrunchie makes it look like you’ve put that little bit more effort in. This scrunchie feels like velvet which I find also means your hair doesn’t get caught in it.
Next I carry around my blogpost idea notebook as I always get the best ideas in the weirdest of places like on a bus or while I’m shopping. Then seeing as I’m the world’s most forgetful person, if I don’t write it down straight away, the ideas gone and never coming back! The print on the notebook is so gorgeous, I absolutely love the combination of navy and orange as well. As this is a notebook, it’s relatively thin which is so handy for my handbag and it isn’t massive taking up a lot of room. There’s always a pen in my bag as well because I can’t write anything down in my notebook otherwise and I or somebody else will always need a pen for something so it’s just handy to have one. My camera is always chucked in my bag last minute incase I see something that I want to get a really professional photo of. I have the black Nikon coolpix S3700 digital camera which I got for Christmas and I love it. It has a 20 mega pixel camera so takes amazing photos and I love how easy it makes taking a good quality photo as an amateur.
Lastly, I always carry a big bottle of water and a cereal bar around. I drink so much water during the week but sometimes on a weekend when I’m busy I forget to drink it. If I take a big bottle with me, it reminds me to drink water which is very good for me as often I’m travelling by bus on a weekend and drinking lots of water helps with my travel sickness. Fiji water bottles are so pretty so I just refill mine with filter water to take with me. You never know what could happen to you so I always prepare for any circumstance. I always take a cereal bar in my bag with me incase something happens and I’m hungry with no access to food. The nakd cereal bars are made with healthy stuff and no refined sugar which I also find helps with my travel sickness. They’re super tasty and helpful if I’m shopping and my energy levels start to lag. The ginger bread, cocoa orange and cocoa are all very tasty but the ones I bought recently are the cashew cookie ones. They’re delicious and you don’t feel guilty after eating one like you would with a chocolate bar!

I’ve never strayed away from vaseline as my lip balm brand but I’ve never seemed to actually finish a tin until now. They always seem to vanish or melt because I leave them in hot places. I mainly bought this because it was cute and I always buy the limited edition ones. Still don’t know if paying double the price for pretty branding is worth it mind. I’ve actually repurchased the pink bubbly before but I’m not going to repurchase the queen bee as it’s not my favourite scent and I’m currently using soul sunday’s lips balms as I find they keep my lips moisturised for much longer.
This nail polish is called rapid ruby by Rimmel, nobody understands how happy this makes me that a nail polish actually has my name on it. I was always one of those very disappointed kids who’s names were never on anything.. This nail polish got all gloopy and ran out basically, I was so sad as this is my favourite red nail polish. It dries so fast which is what I love about all of the nail polishes in the Rimmel 60 second range and two coats is enough because who can be frankly be bothered to do several coats? I also love the brush as it’s so easy to coat the nail with the recommended three stroke action and it doesn’t leave any streaky marks. As soon as I realised it needed to be chucked out I was like right I need to repurchase immediately. Then I thought about it logically and realised I only really wear it in winter so I decided that I’m going repurchase closer to the colder months but stick to my pretty pastels for summer. This looks so gorgeous on my nails with Kate Moss 01 on my lips as they’re the exact same shade of red.
When I reviewed this last year I was really confused to whether I liked the product or not and if I’m brutally honest I’m still not sure. I’m defiantly not going to repurchase this mattifying toner as it has quite a hefty price tag and it just doesn’t stand out to me as a must have product. After using it my skin could feel quite irritated as the mattifying factor was quite harsh. The lazy person within me is so happy that I’ve moved onto a spray toner as it saves the faff of cotton pads. I feel like this does what it says on the bottle but it just isn’t suited to my sensitive skin. It would probably be better for normal oily skin rather than sensitive oily skin. Another pro of this is defiantly that it lasts such a long time, I bought this last August and used it twice daily and it lasted till about a month ago. I think I might stick to different products in L’Occitane as the hand creams look amazing but this toner has put me off trying other skincare. I wrote a blogpost reviewing this product here, L’Occitane En Provence Ultra Mattifying Toner
Body butters are my guilty pleasure, especially from the body shop. The consistency, the smell and the moisturising makes me fall head over heels in love. This passion fruit body butter is so perfect for post shaving as it adds so much moisture to your skin and leaves it without that tacky feeling some thick body products leave. I will defiantly be repurchasing this product but I will have to wait till I’m near an outlet one day as you save so much money compared to buying at your local store. I talked about this product in much more detail in my body shop wash routine
The Rimmel Matte 9 in 1 BB Cream was a last minute purchase before my holiday as I didn’t fancy wearing foundation on a night time as I wanted something lighter on my skin. This claims to be matte but I do think this lets a lot of your natural radiance shine through which I’ve actually been quite enjoying and I never thought I’d say that. This is so easy to use as you can just apply it with your fingers which is so much easier than the faff of brushes. It’s quite a good coverage for a BB cream and I love how you can build up the coverage in the areas you need it. I do seem to be going through it quite fast but that’s not too much of a problem as it is a Rimmel product which are very reasonable in price. This has definitely replaced my favourite Chanel foundation for the summer months as it’s so quick and the shade matches my tanned skin colour perfectly. It’s also perfect for the summer as it has an SPF 15 in which means you don’t have to apply thick and greasy suncream under your makeup.
The Soap and Glory great kisser was a stocking filler for me and it was just for Christmas so I don’t think it’s still available, don’t quote me on it though. I think the prospect of putting my finger in a VERY sticky lipgloss put me off. Don’t get me wrong I do love a sticky lipgloss but I much prefer a dofer applicator to apply them with. However I have been using this peachy lipgloss this month and it’s so gorgeous on the lips but do be warned that if it is windy outside you will have a nightmare on your hands. I find this looks gorgeous with the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in the shade On and On Bronze on my eyes.
Soul Sunday is such an amazing brand, you can probably already tell I’m a massive fan of their lip balms and this toner is no exception. The scent of this is vanilla rose and it’s so subtle so there’s no feeling that you’ve masked your face in a fragrance. This comes in a really handy sized bottle so that I can take it on a morning to the gym and its not like carrying full sized bottles in my bag. I am very lazy so I love using spray toners as cotton pads are just too much effort. The sensation of spraying toner on your face is so satisfying and I always look forward to using this after cleansing. I do think that it’s such a shame that this is an American company and it’s impossible to get over here as I think it would sell really well. Different products from Soul Sunday are definitely on my wish list as all the ones I’ve tried so far I’ve loved. I would really like to repurchase the multitask body oil as I tried the minature version and loved it, the natural deodorant and the florence coffee scrub.
I was on the hunt for an eye cream for a very long time as I think you really need a good one as the skin under your eyes is the thinest and most delicate skin on your whole body. I read a lot of reviews on a lot of products and eventually decided on the Origins GinZing eye cream. This is honestly amazing, I only use this in a morning as it has a brightening formula which I don’t feel I need on a night time. This reduces my bags, brightens my under eye and makes my makeup then apply beautifully on top. If I’m having a rough day I like to sometimes reapply this to give me that glow that I need to look healthy.
Another favourite this month has been a combination of the Benefit Rose Benetint and a Pur Minerals lipstick in the shade Golden Zincite. The benetint makes the lipstick more of a dark pink which I absolutely love and this looks amazing with brown nude eyes. I create this lip by applying the benetint all over my lips then letting it soak in before I generously apply my lipstick. My lips seem the worst for keeping lipstick in place but I find this combination actually lasts quite well. I think this is a beautiful lip for all year round and isn’t tied to summer or winter.
